Wow, horrible video.
First, the kid is too young — his lungs haven’t developed well enough for diving on compressed air.
Second, he has no understanding of not holding your breath. Had he dove down to get the toy and sucked empty, his natural instinct would be to hold his breath and bolt for the surface. He’s too young to understand otherwise. A pool is plenty deep for a lung expansion injury.

But it’s good to learn at an young age about the ability to breathe underwater with a snorkel or scuba or in this case, spare air. Because if he decides to learn scuba when he’s older he won’t be afraid to breathe underwater.

additionally, even if his lungs didn’t pop you can be nearing a level of pressure within them, from possible breath holding, that is driving gas into solution or actually tearing alveoli. his speed of ascent and descent is an issue as well. his rate of ascent is so fast that pressure gradients might be faster than the mechanism designed to prevent lung overinflation, emboli are highly possible with that speed he’s swimming. I dive with spare air all the time and wouldn’t go that fast…

but Im not hacking your video either, it just needs to be discussed.
Your video is what introduced me to spare air, and to learn the specifics as it applies to pool diving, its got inspiration elements to it no doubt but in case others try and repeat it they need to know:
1. 100% of the scuba diving community hates the idea
2. a child can be taught correctly but its a technical venture out of the range of the majority of people and a risk frankly not worth it for the age shown.
