Jim & Tammy Bakker Make an Appearance at Heritage USA- June 27, 1988- Vid #3
Starts off where video #2 leaves off. Jim & Tammy have just fought off a horde of people, all wanting pictures and autographs. They are now slowly making their way through the lobby, past the registration area, and towards their car waiting outside. At :17 Jim said he was collecting hugs today. At :20 I asked, “How about handshakes?” Jim shook my hand and said, “Yeah, how are you doing?” I replied, “Fine, you?” to which he replied, “It’s nice to see ya.” They sort of make tentative plans to return tomorrow to see “the girls from registration.” I don’t know if they ever did. If you listen closey, you can hear Jim ask, “What girls?” If you listen very closely through all three of these videos, you will no doubt be able to hear comments made that I did not mention. I didn’t want to mention every single word spoken… just a few notable comments here and there. Next it’s outside the main entrance of the HGH, and more people waiting for hugs. Remember the tall blonde assistant? I am certain that she came out earlier and moved the Bakkers’ Chrysler Fifth Avenue to a point where they could easily get in and get out. I believe this car was parked in a different location, possibly visible at the very beginning of vid #1, close to the tram stop, but I am not absolutely certain. I do not think it would have been parked where it is shown in this video for the length of time Jim & Tammy were inside the HGH. Notice the white iron fence atop the brick wall to Jim’s right. OK EVEN HERE you see how THE LIFE, THE SPARK WAS GONE- BEAUTIFUL yet no life.
Foul Well’s plan was set in motion here. I gues they slept at Tega Cay, as it had yet to be taken back ? But I agree Coulston has just HYPED alot of people. and the zone commision may yet remove the TOWERS, WHO KNOWS, But gosh what memories, I am having a blast !

COULSTON ,has also put the UPPER ROOM in a mess, —-they as you say have no real care for the beauty , and the menaning Jim Bakker had intended, This is so BITTER sWEET- BUT AGAIN SO FUN !

As of June 2009, the Upper Room is still standing & actually appeared to me to be in relatively good condition, all things considered. I did make a video of the Upper Room as it existed in June 2009, but that is one of the two videos that I recorded in 2009 that did not survive. Somehow the video was competely erased on my memory card.
Also near the Upper Room were a couple totally dilapitated camping area bath houses which had been completely ransacked. That video did not survive, either.

I have no real knowledge of who used the Tega Cay property after Jim & Tammy left, or even if it was used at all. I do know that it burned down to the ground at a later point.
Practically the only thing left of Heritage USA today is the HGH, Main Street and the rest of the Partner Center, the main tram stop just outside the front door of the HGH, the towers, an outdoor pool, two lakeside lodges & a few chalets & the auditorium/ broadcast barn.
The rest? Completely demolished & razed.

The car is a Chrysler Fifth Avenue. As they approach the car Tammy says “This it? It’s so nice!” and Jim apparently doesnt know how to start a Chrysler as he rides the starter and damn near floods it. You can tell he is pumping the gas when the engine finally starts..VROOM VROOOOM! leading me to believe they just got this car. Maybe it was a parting gift from PTL? With a carbureted Chrysler, You tap the gas once to set the choke and then start it. If you pump the gas pedal you will flood it out.

I think one of the most disappointing things about the area today is the way Coulston Enterprises has gone in and destroyed so many of these beautiful trees that are seen in this video. Their ‘redevelopment’ of the property certainly wasn’t and isn’t being done in an environmentally sensitive manner. What was once beautiful terrain has largely been clearcut and forever lost – all for the sake of a dollar. What a shame!
