They use several chemicals in pool water to keep it clean, and a sand filter to keep the water clear of particulates, but none of those cause the water to be blue.

The water is blue due to the fact that the electrons in a water molecule absorb the other colors of the light spectrum and reflect the blue wavelengths. You typically do not see this in a glass of water due to its comparitively low mass. Same for the Oceans, although the color is different thanks to the salt content of the water.

No Sulfur, Perfectly balanced HP in water makes it turn it’s NATURAL color of Blue that is the color it refracts from the sunlight. Water is naturally blue. You can add color dye to it to make it more blue. But the beautiful clear AQUA color you get does not normally come from chemicals. You add "shock" to kill algae so the pool doesn’t trun green, those are chemicals, but they aren’t color enhancers. You add chlorine to help kill bacteria in the water to keep the pool clean and clear, that is a chemical also, but there are no color enhancers in it. Chlorine is white and disolves.

Multiple chemicals that keep the ph Balance & Chlorine at the ideal level.
That ‘blue’ color? It’s the blue lining that almost all pools have. The clarity of the water gives it that "blue" color effect.
If you put that same water in a clear glass, you won’t see any blue coloring at all. Just a crystal clear appearance.

Certainly not copper sulphate which is really rather poisonous (though not as toxic as copper(II) chloride!)

Swimming pools usually look blue because they have a blue lining (to make them look attractive) and, of course, on a sunny day the water in a swimming pool will look blue just as the sea does because it reflects the colour of the sky.
